For akamine_chan's Snowflake Challenge:

Day 12

In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you think would make a good intro into XYZ fandom. Rec a fandom overview, a introductory picspam, stories that define and shape the fandom.

Is there a better way to introduce someone in a short time to a new fandom than with a fanvid?

The following vids summarize their respective fandom in the most perfect way in my opinion:

Dark Angel - Plug In Baby by txlsplash

Leverage - Good Idea At The Time by lithiumdoll

Primeval - All These Things That I've Done by killabeez

Star Trek Reboot - The Test by heresluck

White Collar - Footloose by china_shop

And if you want to know why I ship Neal/Peter/Elizabeth like crazy, just watch Let's Misbehave by trelkez :)

Day 13

In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favourite interview, a book) and explain why you love it so much.

Most of 'Harper's Island' gives you a feeling of (bad) soap-opera mixed with horror flick. I mean, they advertised their characters with descriptions like "The Good Girl", "The Old Flame" or "The Biker Chick"! Therefore I was cheering the killer on, while he decimated the members of the wedding party.

But that changed in Episode 11. It's the moment when Chloe Carter, who was introduced as "The Flirt", denies the murderer the chance to kill her and instead lets herself fall from the bridge, telling him, "You can't have me." With that she follows Cal, her fiancé of a few minutes, into death. She looks so calm and untouchable in this few seconds before she lets go. I love her so much for her decision not to play "the game".

Day 14

In your own space, ask for help. Need a beta? Always wanted to learn how to make a vid? a fanmix? icons? Maybe you’d want to have someone cheering for you while you work on an upcoming big bang or fannish bingo?

With all the stuff happening in my life the last 1 1/2 years, I totally fell out of podficcing and now I'm having a hard time getting back into the groove. I'm still working myself out of my near-burnout and I get easily distracted. Therefore I would like to have someone to cheer me on/remind me regularly to record something. Or maybe someone is interested in doing a podfic project together? Newbies welcome! :)

Thank you for your offer, calliope! I hope to record a ficlet over the weekend, to dip my toe in so to speak. :)
