During this year's dS C6D Big Bang I got the chance to create two different kinds of art for luzula 's wonderful dS story "The Work of Coming Home"; an audio trailer and two pieces of visual art/illustration.

Sadly the deadline arrived and I hadn't finished the following
piece, called "A Quiet Evening At Home":

Um. I'm not sure if I actually saw this piece, though surely I must have? I only remember the journal and the letters (and the trailer, of course). Anyway, I love it! I can just see Fraser sitting by the desk and reading Ray's letter. The cup looks plain and utilitarian and like something Fraser would have, and the book looks like he's brushing up on his French. What's in the middle of the desk? Some kind of compartment you can open?

Thanks for linking to this!

I think you were up North without internet access, when I posted this. Though I'm glad you like it.

There's an foot-operated sewing machine hidden in that compartement, you can raise when needed. As I can't imagine Faser having a glass table, I used this as surface/background. In my mind it's one of the furniture pieces they took over from the former house owners. :)
